Genie Keyless Entry Instructions

Open a garage the keyless way.


There are three basic types of Genie Keyless Entry systems, including two Intellicode Keyless Entry Systems and the Wireless Keypad Entry System. The Intellicode Keyless Entry systems work for remote control models G2T-1, G2T-2, G2T-3 and GMI-3BL. The Wireless Keypad Entry system works on the GPT90-1, GPT90-3, GPT912, MAT90 and AT95 remote controls. Choose one of the instruction sets below for your model and you should be able to program your system in very little time.


Instructions


Intellicode Keyless Entry System - New model (White)


1. Open the keypad remote control cover fully and set the personal identification number (PIN) by pressing 3, 5 and 7, followed by the Prog button. Observe the red LED blinking once per second. Enter a three- to eight-character PIN. Press the Prog button to exit and observe the red LED blinking twice per second and then turning off. Close the cover.


2. Look at the motor housing for the garage door opener and locate the Learn Code button and red LED near the black antenna wire. If no antenna can be seen hanging from the door opener, an external receiver is being used and can be located by searching the garage for a black box approximately 6 inches by 2 inches with an antenna hanging outside. Remove the cover of the external receiver. Press the Learn Code button and observe the red LED flashing.


3. Enter the PIN on the keypad remote control and press the Up/Down button (picture of two triangles) on the keypad. The Learn Code button red LED light on the garage door opener stays lit. Press the Up/Down button on the keypad remote again. The Learn Code button red LED light goes out..


4. Test the keypad by entering the PIN and pushing the Up/Down button.


Intellicode Keyless Entry System - Old model (Black)


5. Open the keypad remote control cover fully and set the personal identification number (PIN) by pressing 3, 5 and 7, followed by the Prog button. Observe the red LED blinking once per second. Enter a three- to eight-character PIN. Press the Prog button to exit and observe the red LED blinking twice per second and then turning off. Close the cover.


6. Look at the motor housing for the garage door opener and locate the Learn Code button and red LED near the black antenna wire. 7. Open the keypad remote control cover fully and enter the PIN. Press the Send button four times and the unit will be ready for use. Close the cover.


8. Test the keypad remote by opening the keypad, entering the PIN and pressing Send once.


Wireless Keypad Entry System - Non Intellicode


9. Locate and determine the three- or four-digit door code of your garage door opener by checking the user's manual that came with the product.


10. Reset the keypad by sliding the keypad cover halfway up. Simultaneously press the # and 8 buttons while sliding the keypad cover all the up until it latches. The red LED stays on. Release the # and 8 buttons and the red LED goes out.


11. Create a PIN by pressing 3, 5, 7 and # buttons. The red LED flashes once per second. Enter a three- to eight-character PIN and press the # button The red LED flashes twice per second. Enter the door code from Step 1, press the * button and the red LED goes out. Slide the keypad cover closed.


12. Test the keypad by sliding the cover up until it latches, entering the PIN and pressing the * button.


Tips Warnings


If the red LED lights blink rapidly, an error has occurred. Start the process again when the light stops blinking.


A Moving Door can cause serious injury or death. Keep people clear of the opening area during programming and while door is in motion.


Do Not allow children to play with the wireless keypad.
