Receding Hairline Treatment

Hair loss affects about 70% of men in the world. A receding hair line happens when hair follicles shut down and close up due to testosterone fluctuations in the body along with genetic factors. Treatments for a receding hair loss include wearing a hair piece, hair transplants and products such as Rogaine and propecia.

Toupee

Toupees are the fastest way to conceal a shiny head. However, toupees are not cheap and require a lot of maintenance. The once very noticeable toupee of yesteryear has been replaced with state of the art hair pieces that are virtually unnoticeable by the naked eye. An alternative to a toupee is the procedure of hair transplantation, which consists of moving skin that includes hair follicles from one part of the body and is surgically placed on the part of that head that has no hair follicles.

Rogaine

Rogain is an FDA-approved product that has been clinically shown to re-grow hair in the majority of men who use it. Rogaine is an incredibly popular treatment for hair loss. To use the product simply apply to the affected area twice a day, everyday. Rogaine can be used as either foam or a topical solution. The main ingredient that helps to re-grow hair in the Rogaine product is minoxidil, which works by amplifying hair follicles that have shrunk, which will allow hair to sprout through the follicles again and grow back normally.

Propecia

Propecia is also a popular hair loss treatment. Propecia is only available by prescription, and is an orally ingested tablet. The tablet is to be taken once a day for an entire year. Results can be noticed anywhere from 3 months to a year. Propecia is only for men. Pregnant women could be in danger if a tablet happens to break open and they become exposed to it. A few men experienced a lower libido and erectile dysfunction as a result of first taking the tablet, but adjusted to it later on, reducing their sexual problems.
