What Kind Of Crackers Go Best With Spinach Dip

Plain crackers are a classic choice with spinach dip.

You can serve spinach dip with a variety of dipping items ranging from baguette slices to fresh vegetables. One of the easiest ways to serve the dip, however, is with crackers. Various types of crackers complement spinach dip.

Plain

If you simply want your crackers to highlight the flavor of the spinach dip, serve it with plain crackers. These will not distract your palate from the flavor of the spinach. An added bonus is that you can select crackers with a level of salt that works best for your dip. If you have a very salty dip, for example, choose unsalted crackers. On the other hand, if your dip is unsalted or bland, you can serve it with salted crackers to give it more flavor without taking away from the taste of the spinach.

Sundried Tomato

For a stark but tasty contrast to the smooth flavor of the spinach dip, serve it with sundried tomato crackers. The bright, acidic flavor of the crackers works well with the mellow spinach dip. Depending on the flavors in the dip and your personal preference, you can even buy slightly spicy sundried tomato crackers. These go especially well with more bland or mild dips; if your spinach dip already has a hint of spiciness, combining it with spicy crackers might be too much.

Cheese

Cheese crackers blend well with spinach dips. Unlike sundried tomato crackers, which accentuate the flavor of the spinach by providing a bright contrast, cheese crackers serve to complement and exaggerate the rich creaminess of the spinach dip. If you choose to go this route, you will have to make yet another choice. You can buy cheese crackers that are fairly mildly flavored and do not stand out against the flavor of the spinach. On the other hand, you can opt to buy crackers with a distinctly cheesy taste that you and your guests will notice even when these crackers are paired with the rich and flavorful spinach dip.
