Make Mozzarella Bowtie Pasta

Plain bow tie pasta can quickly be turned into a main dinner dish.

If you are in need of a simple dinner recipe that both you and your family will love, look no further than the box of bow-tie pasta that has been sitting in your cabinet waiting for the perfect occasion. Although pasta may seem like a generic main dish, you can effortlessly dress it up in any fashion that pleases your palate. Bow-tie pasta with mozzarella cheese will not only go easy on a tight schedule, but a tight budget, too.

Instructions

1. Fill a 5-quart pot three-quarters of the way with cold water. Add a few pinches of kosher salt. Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Add pasta to the boiling water, keeping the heat on high. Cook the pasta for 8 to 12 minutes unless otherwise specified on the package. Drain the water from the pasta and set it aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

2. Heat your oven to 400 F. White the oven preheats, pour olive oil into a large pan and cook over medium heat.

3. Chop up your onion and garlic and add them to the heated pan. Cook for about 1 minute, stirring frequently.

4. Dice the tomatoes and add them to the pan along with the oregano and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat until the juice from the tomatoes begins to boil.

5. Grate the mozzarella cheese and chop the spinach. Add half the cheese and all of the spinach to the pan. Continue to cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring often. Turn off the heat once the spinach has begun to wilt.

6. Pour the contents of the pan into a glass baking dish. Spread the rest of the mozzarella cheese over the top of the dish and add the Parmesan cheese on top of that.

7. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly brown.
