Roast A Marshmallow Over A Light Bulb

Sometimes a campfire is not available, due to weather or location, and you really want a s'more or a fun activity for the kids indoors. Roasting a marshmallow over a light bulb can be delicious if you are using the right equipment. Some light bulbs do not have the power to get the marshmallow toasty in a realistic time setting, so choose the wattage carefully.

Instructions

Roast a Marshmallow Over a Light Bulb

1. Place a lamp on the floor or table. Use a100W bulb. If you need to change the bulb, turn off the lamp and remove the plug from the socket. Switch bulbs when the original is cool to the touch. Plug light back in and turn on.

2. Place a marshmallow onto your fork.

3. Place the marshmallow over the light bulb, close but not touching the top of the bulb. Rotate the marshmallow a few times throughout the process.

4. After six minutes of holding a marshmallow over the bulb, the marshmallow should be roasted. The marshmallow will be warm and gooey. It should taste like a fire-roasted marshmallow but without the golden crust.
