Looking for a low profile air duct solution

looking for a low profile air duct solution

renovating a basement with little head-room. existing air ducts run across joists. was wondering if anyone has heard of a low profile duct system so as to gain head-room. example: if existing ducts are say 6 x 12. would it be possible to replace with a duct 3 x 24? thanks Sorry to say dont do it. Yes you can make a smaller duct but they get too wide. Next everytime the blower comes on they go BANG. Even to go from a 8 to a 6 deep duct . It just gets to wide for the same sq . We do make and use like a 3X----10, x12 ,x14 and thats about it
