Instructions

1. Add water to a medium size pot, filling the pot with water halfway.

2. Place the pot over a medium to high flame and cover. Check the pot after seven minutes to see if the water has started to boil. When the water begins to bubble, pour the uncooked rotini into the pot. Note that the water will stop boiling for a moment, after adding the pasta, then will start to boil again.

3. Leave the cover off the pot and let the rotini cook for approximately 12 minutes, stirring the pasta periodically with a large stainless steel spoon. Check the rotini by biting into it to see if it is soft. Drain the rotini in the colander when it is done.

4. Rinse the cooked rotini under cold running water to remove the starch, then pour 1 cup of the cooked rotini into a mixing bowl.

5. Add the celery, bell pepper, broccoli and black pepper to the rotini and mix together well, using the large mixing spoon.

6. Add the Italian dressing and mix again to thoroughly coat the rotini and vegetables.

7. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for no less than an hour.

8. Divide the rotini pasta salad into three portions and serve.
