Make Snacks For Kids Using Crackers

Use crackers to make a healthy, fun snack.

Kids can be picky eaters. Please picky eaters with snack recipes using crackers that are fun to make and yummy to eat. Let the kids make the snacks using items you have in the pantry or refrigerator. It's hands-on fun, healthy and less work for you. Put the crackers out on a plate, and the additional ingredients in separate bowls. Supervise very young children, especially if you are using the microwave to heat any of the cracker snacks.

Instructions

1. Spread a layer of pizza sauce on the cracker. Top it off with some shredded cheese and microwave the cracker for a few seconds to melt the cheese. Add a pepperoni or any other pizza topping you have on hand.

2. Make the cracker into a taco. Spread taco sauce over the cracker and add a layer of Mexican cheese. Microwave the cracker for a few seconds to melt the cheese. Add a dollop of sour cream for extra flavor.

3. Use crackers as a substitute for bread. Spread peanut butter on one cracker and jelly on another to create and easy peanut butter and jelly sandwich variation.

4. Take a hot dog and turn it into a simple snack. Slice the hot dog into pieces and place the slices on the cracker. Finish the snack off with ketchup, mustard, relish or whatever condiments your child prefers.

5. Make sweet treats as well. Smooth cream cheese over the cracker, and then add a slice of fruit on top, such as strawberries or blueberries. Instead of using cream cheese, try yogurt to see if your child likes it.

6. Dip a cracker in melted chocolate or spread on frosting. Top the cracker off with M&Ms, sprinkles, marshmallows or gummy candy.
