Roast Raw Shelled Peanuts

Roast Raw Shelled Peanuts

Raw peanuts taste delicious prepared in a number of ways, such as when they are roasted. Purchase fresh-shelled peanuts, remove them from their protective casing and roast them in the oven. Of course, you can always just go to the store and buy them in a can or jar, seasoned and ready to consume. However, parching these nuts yourself will allow you to season them as much as you want and eat them while they're hot.

Instructions

1. Purchase some fresh peanuts still in the shell. Select the ones that do not rattle when shaken. Next, remove the shells of as many peanuts as you want to roast.

2. Fill a pot halfway with water and set the heat to high. Add the shelled nuts and blanch for two or three minutes. Dump the pot of water into a strainer.

3. Take the skins off the peanuts with your fingers and place the nuts on a paper towel to dry. Next, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

4. Place the skinned peanuts in the baking pan. The nuts should be in a single layer so they all get evenly roasted.

5. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes, stirring every five minutes. Salt to your taste and enjoy.
