Decorate A Banana For Halloween

Decorate bananas to create spooky ghost pops.

Halloween parties call for spooky refreshments. Whether you're entertaining kids or getting together with adult friends, create a batch of scary ghost pops on a stick for a tasty treat. These cool pops have a base made from a banana, decorated with candy to look like ghost. Arrange the ghosts on a bed of florist foam in a pan to stand them up on a buffet table, or place them on a tray to pass around.

Instructions

1. Peel the bananas and cut each one in half horizontally. Push a craft stick into the cut end of each banana half.

2. Place white chocolate melting discs into a bowl. The amount of discs depends on how many bananas you will decorate. Start with half a bowl and add more later.

3. Place the bowl into a microwave and heat it on high for 30 seconds. Remove the bowl and stir the candy. It will have begun to melt, but you will probably still see lumps. Return the bowl to the microwave and repeat the heating and stirring process. Keep going until the candy is entirely melted liquid.

4. Dip each banana half into the melted candy. Use a spoon to help pour the chocolate over the banana, coating it completely. Hold the banana up by the craft stick and twirl it to help coat the surface.

5. Lay the banana on a baking sheet that has been covered with waxed paper. Dip all the other banana halves into the white coating. Arrange all the bananas in rows on the pan. Place the pan in the refrigerator.

6. Refrigerate the coated bananas for 1 hour. Remove the pan and decorate the banana ghosts with black icing gel, placing dots for eyes and small "O" shapes for mouths.
