Store Ground Beef & Freeze Dried Ground Beef

It's important to store your ground beef properly or you risk spoiling the meat.

Some people purchase their ground beef at a local grocery store or deli, and then use the meat to cook. Others buy the ground beef freeze dried, which requires rehydrating before cooking, but lasts a long period of time. Both of these different types of ground beef have different storage tactics, and it's important you store them correctly or else the ground beef can spoil.

Instructions

Freeze-Dried Ground Beef

1. Pour the freeze-dried ground beef into a resealable bag. Write the current date on the bag with a permanent marker.

2. Find a cool, dry place in your home to store the freeze-dried ground beef, such as the pantry or a cabinet.

3. Recheck the bag once every few months, and discard the freeze-dried ground beef when the meat gets over 1 year old.

5. Place the ground beef in the bag and shut the bag tightly so no air is in the bag.

6. Store the ground beef in the bag for four months at the most to ensure maximum freshness.
