Make Cream Garlic Sauce

Cream garlic sauce makes a delicious accompaniment for pasta dishes, as a salad dressing and as a flavor enhancement when drizzled over steak or any food that could benefit from the pungent taste of garlic balanced by the mellowness of rich cream. Cream garlic sauce can even be used as a decadent dip for potato chips. Preparing the basic sauce takes only minutes. Like most forms of cooking, chefs can test the limits of their creativity by embellishing the cream garlic sauce with other spices.

Instructions

1. Crush peeled garlic cloves in a garlic press to mince the cloves. About eight cloves from a medium-sized bulb of garlic will yield 2 tbsp.

2. Add the garlic to a saucepan and saute over medium heat with the butter until light brown.

3. Add the 2 cups of cream and continue stirring over medium heat.

4. Season the sauce with sea salt and cracked peppercorns to taste. Other spices can be added, depending on the intended use for the sauce. Fresh basil and oregano add flavor to cream garlic sauce over fettuccine or linguine, for example. Add a cube or two of beef bullion if the sauce will be ladled over a grilled steak. Fresh dill makes a nice addition for serving the sauce with seafood.

5. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until the cream thickens. Take care not to let the sauce boil.

6. Serve immediately over fresh pasta, steaks, chicken or seafood.
