Make Iced Green Tea

Green tea is known for its healthful benefits, including the ability to provide antioxidants. You can enjoy green tea hot, or pour it over ice for a refreshing drink on a warm day. It takes less than 20 minutes to brew iced green tea.

Instructions

1. Add 4 to 6 cups of water, 1 to 2 tsp. of ground ginger and a cup of artificial sweetener to a large saucepan. Boil the mixture over medium heat until it reaches a temperature of 100 degrees F.

2. Adjust the stove temperature down once the water boils. Continue to let the water boil at low heat for another 10 minutes.

3. Remove the saucepan from the heat to let the water cool. Place six green tea bags into the liquid, along with a cup of mint leaves or 1 tsp. lemon peel. Omit the mint and the lemon peel if you'd rather have plain, green tea without the extras.

4. Cover the saucepan with a lid and let the tea bags brew in the water for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to get the most out of the green tea flavor.

5. Remove the tea bags after the liquid cools. Pour the green tea into a pitcher or a similar container.

6. Stir in 2 to 3 tbsp. of lemon juice and 1/2 cup of honey. You may need to add more honey or lemon juice to taste. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate the green tea until it is chilled. This amount of green tea should make five or six glasses.
