Make Spicy Cheese Dip

For a quick and easy appetizer, consider making a spicy cheese dip to please guests of any age. Make this recipe ahead of time and serve with any kind of corn chips. Best of all, you can alter or add your favorite ingredients to this spicy cheese dip.


Instructions








1. Gather your ingredients and a 9 x 13 in. glass pan. Pre-measure the ingredients if possible.


2. Allow the cream cheese to thaw for half an hour before use. You need to spread the cream cheese easily.


3. Dice the tomatoes and jalapeno peppers and set aside. You can also use a small, 7 oz. can of tomatoes and peppers if you prefer.


4. Spread the cream cheese along the bottom of your glass pan using a spoon. The layer should be spread evenly so that you cannot see the bottom of the pan.


5. Open the canned chili and spread evenly, covering the cream cheese layer completely. You may opt for canned chili with or without beans, depending upon your preferences.


6. Sprinkle the diced tomatoes and jalapenos over the chili layer. Use these ingredients sparingly if you do not like very spicy foods.


7. Add the shredded cheese to the top of the tomato layer. Any type of shredded cheese works well for this recipe, including cheddar, Mexican blends, Colby and Monterrey Jack blends.


8. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat the dip for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheese bubbles.


9. Serve with corn chips. You may also opt to offer shredded lettuce, sour cream or salsa on the side.
