Ingredients
There are a number of meals using the tilapia fish that one can make that also include apple cider vinegar. One simple recipe is breaded tilapia served along with a mango salsa. The first step is to purchase tilapia fillets (either fresh or frozen) and a box of breading mix. For the salsa, you will need a peeled and diced mango, one cup of diced red onion, one cup each of diced cucumber, red pepper and tomato, two tablespoons of chopped cilantro, four tablespoons of lime juice, three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and two teaspoons of olive oil. You can also add salt and pepper to taste.
Making the fish
The tilapia fillets must first be rinsed, after which you can season them with salt and pepper or whatever spices you like with your fish. The process is much the same for frozen or fresh fillets. Next, you will want to bread the fillets lightly with the breading mix, making sure to bread both sides evenly. The tilapia fillets should be baked on a cookie sheet at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Baking time will vary depending on how you like your fish---longer if you like crisper fillets; less time if you prefer your fish to be softer.
Making the salsa
While the fish is baking, prepare the salsa. One of the advantages of this salsa is that if you have already diced all of your ingredients, all you need to do is to combine the remaining ingredients in a bowl. Then, they can be mixed together using a spoon or fork. While the fish is baking, you should keep the salsa in the refrigerator. Once the fish is done, take it out of the oven and let it stand for five minutes before serving. You can use the salsa as a topping for the fish, or you can have it on the side.
