Lowfat Imitation Crab Salad

Crab salad can make a tasty low-fat dish.


Homemade low-fat imitation crab salad takes just minutes to create, does not need to be cooked and you can serve it in a variety of ways. Your low-fat imitation crab salad can be used as a dip with crackers, scooped onto a roll, placed on a bed of lettuce or mixed in with pasta. This recipe creates a low-fat imitation crab salad but for an exact calculation of the calorie amount, read the labels on your ingredients, add them together depending on the amount you are using and then divide by the amount of servings you have created.


Instructions


1. Chop 1 cup celery and 1 tbsp. green onions into thin bite-sized pieces.


2. Measure out your ingredients. You will need 1 1/2 cups of imitation crab meat, 1 cup of chopped celery, 1/3 cup salad dressing or Miracle Whip, 1 tbsp. chopped green onions, 1/4 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp. fresh ground black pepper.


3. Combine the chopped green onions, salt, pepper and salad dressing, or Miracle Whip, in a bowl. Stir until the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.


4. Combine the imitation crab meat and celery into the mixture created in Step 3. Toss the mixture until the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.


5. Place the crab salad in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving.








6. Serve the crab salad as is, or mix it with pasta, create a sandwich, as a dip or on lettuce.
