Dye Punch Hot Pink

You can dye punch to coordinate with a party theme.

Dying punch is a quick way to coordinate the beverage with a party theme. You can direct the color of the punch one of two ways. You can choose a principle component that is pink, like certain fruit juices. Or, you can add pink dye to the finished product to bolster its color. Hot pink is such a deep, vibrant color that employing both methods could be beneficial, but doing so is not required.

Instructions

1. Prepare the punch according to the recipe you are using.

2. Add ingredients bearing the hue you wish to see in the final product. Some ingredients may impart a fuchsia color negating the need for dye. Many red ingredients, if added in moderation, will appear hot pink before appearing totally red. Pomegranate juice, cranberry juice, strawberries or various powdered drink mixes can create the desired shade.

3. Add all other ingredients and stir the punch to ensure everything is properly incorporated. Taste the punch to ensure it has the desired flavor profile.

4. Add dark pink food coloring or edible dye. The dyes bakers use to color frosting will work well. Add a couple of drops, then mix the punch. You can always add more dye or coloring, as needed. However, too much dye may make the punch appear red.

5. Taste the punch again once you have achieved the desired color. The dye may impart a slight bitter taste, which you can offset by adding an extra teaspoon of sugar or more of a colorless liquid component.
