Make Mashed Potato Patties With Cheese

Use leftover mashed potatoes to make the recipe easier.


Mashed potato patties with cheese are a satisfying meal you can serve as an appetizer or main dish for lunch or dinner. You can use leftover mashed potatoes or make a fresh batch for the patty recipe. The mashed potato patties can be served on a hamburger bun, a slice of toast or on their own. Making mashed potato patties requires approximately 20 minutes from start to finish. A basic mashed potato recipe yields 10 to 12 servings.


Instructions


1. Combine 8 cups mashed potatoes, 3/4 cup milk, one egg, 4 tbsp. butter, 2 tbsp. flour and 1 tbsp. minced garlic in a food processor. Turn on for 30 seconds to combine all ingredients and pour the mashed potato mixture into a mixing bowl.


2. Stir 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese into the mashed potato mixture.


3. Pour 1 inch of vegetable oil into a pan and heat on a stove top on medium for three minutes.


4. Form the mashed potato mixture into 1-inch thick patties the size of your palm and place into the heated vegetable oil. Cook for one minute on each side.


5. Allow the patties to cool for five minutes before serving.
