Make Chai Tea Latte

Chai, which originated centuries ago in the eastern hemisphere, has become a hugely popular beverage in the west. Traditionally this combination of tea, spices and milk is served hot, but it can also be enjoyed over ice. Despite the coffeehouse mystique of this sweet and spicy treat, it is easy to make a chai tea latte at home.


Instructions


Make Chai Tea Latte with Tea Bags


1. Brew a mug of tea using a chai tea bag or loose tea leaves in an infuser.


2. Add warm or steamed milk.


3. Stir in sugar or honey to taste.


4. Sprinkle the chai latte with cinnamon, nutmeg or both.


5. Allow the mixture to cool if you want to make iced chai latte and then pour it over ice cubes. Otherwise, serve the chai latte while it is hot.


Make Chai Tea Latte from Liquid Concentrate


6. Shake the package of liquid chai concentrate before opening it.


7. Pour a ? cup of the chai concentrate into a mug or saucepan for hot chai or into a glass for iced chai.


8. Mix ? cup of milk into the chai concentrate.


9. Add ice cubes to the glass if making iced chai latte. Otherwise, heat the mixture in the microwave saucepan and heat until it is close to boiling for hot chai latte.


10. Sprinkle the chai latte with cinnamon, nutmeg or both and serve.


Make Chai Tea Latte with a Powdered Mix


11. Bring one cup of water to the boil.


12. Measure the chai mix according to the directions on the package. One tablespoon is often the rule of thumb, but you may want to add more or less to taste.








13. Stir the chai mix into the hot water until it is completely blended.


14. Add a splash of milk if desired.


15. Sprinkle the chai latte with cinnamon, nutmeg or both.


16. Allow the chai latte to cool if you want to make iced chai and then pour it over ice cubes. Otherwise, serve the chai latte while it is hot.
