Make A French Martini With Chambord

Make a French Martini With Chambord

The traditional martini is a cocktail made of either vodka or gin, with a splash of vermouth. It is served chilled, either on the rocks (with ice) or straight up (without ice). When served straight up, the beverage is poured into a stemmed martini glass, similar to the one in the photograph. Served on the rocks, the martini is poured into a stemless rocks glass. With the popularity of martini bars, new martini recipes have developed. Some are made with flavored vodkas. The French martini owes its distinct flavor to Chambord and fruit juice.

Instructions

1. Fill a martini shaker with ice. This is typically a stainless steel container, like the one in the photograph. Stainless steel will help to chill the drink.

2. Add the vodka or gin to the martini shaker. Martinis can be made with either gin or vodka, and it is often a personal preference in which to use. Be sure not to use flavored vodka.

3. Pour the pineapple juice and Chambord into the shaker. Secure the lid on the shaker.

4. Shake the container to chill and mix the drink.

5. Pour the drink into the stemmed martini glass, straining the ice from the drink.

6. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.
