Make Dessert Coffee

For coffee lovers, a hot cup of java after dinner is both a pleasure and a comfort. You can treat yourself and the java fans you know to a special dessert coffee that will provide the perfect climax to your next great meal.

Instructions

1. Brew your coffee, starting with ice cold water for the best results. Make your coffee a bit stronger than usual, as the added ingredients will dilute its flavor. Add one part vanilla extract for every four parts of water before brewing.

2. Prepare your coffee mugs. Use large mugs or even tall glasses. Place one scoop of vanilla ice cream in the bottom of each mug just before the coffee is ready to pour.

3. Place your hot brewed coffee in a separate pitcher. Add 1 tsp. of sugar for every 2 cups of coffee. Add a fifty-fifty mixture of whole milk and heavy cream to the coffee until it reaches your desired consistency.

4. Pour your coffee and cream mixture over the vanilla ice cream. Pour down the side of the glass so that the ice cream doesn't melt too quickly.

5. Add a garnish. Top your coffee with a dollop of whip cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon or powdered chocolate. For a special touch, place a sweet cookie, a peppermint stick or a piece of chocolate into the whip cream.
