Pick Healthy Travel Snack Food

Traveling can often lead to unhealthy meals and snacks that you grab just to have something to put in your stomach. When you don't eat well, you may not feel well, and that's something that can spoil your trip. With a little planning and organization using the following steps, you can pick healthy travel snack food and enjoy your trip.

Instructions

1. Take foods that your family likes and put a spin on the original. For example, if your children like popsicles, freeze grapes and keep them cold in a cooler for a snack that is fruity, frozen and healthy.

2. Customize your own trail mix with foods that you really like. Combine proteins such as nuts with dried fruits for a satisfying travel snack food.

3. Pack a resealable bag with veggies and a resealable container with something to dip the veggies in. Celery and peanut butter or carrots and ranch dressing are two great tastes.

4. Slice pita bread into triangles, place on a flat sheet pan, spray with olive oil cooking spray and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Pack in a resealable bag for a healthy alternative to potato chips.

5. Choose a cookie made from oatmeal or granola that has dried fruit and nuts. This will satisfy the sweet tooth with fiber and not a lot of sugar.
