Create Dashed Lines In Fireworks

If you want to veer away from solid lines within your image, Adobe Fireworks can help. The line tool allows you to create different types of lines, whether they require shadows, texture or color. You'll find everything from crayon lines to dashed lines in the stroke category. Dashed lines are broken into several types including basic dash, dash double, dash triple, dotted, hard dash and heavy dash, helping you create lines for any project.

Instructions

1. Go to the Tools panel in Adobe Fireworks. Click the Line tool under the Vector section. Go to the Colors section and click the Fill button. Select the Transparent button (white box with red diagonal line). Click the Stroke button and select a stroke color from the color palette that opens.

2. Click and drag your mouse over your canvas to create a line. Release your mouse when it's the right length.

3. Go to the Properties inspector (in the bottom pane) and type a line size into the Tip size text box.

4. Click the Stroke Category drop-down menu in the Properties inspector. Select Dashed from the fly-out menu and choose the type of dash you want to use. The customization is applied to the line on your canvas.
