Freeze Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet potato fries are a sweet tasting side dish. You can find them at local restaurants or you can make your own. Once you have fried up a batch of sweet potato fries, you can make the leftovers last longer by freezing them. Sweet potatoes can be stored in your freezer for up to six months and reheated in your oven for a fast side dish.

Instructions

1. Remove a sheet of wax paper, pulling the sheet out over the baking sheet in until it is 1/2-inch over the end side. Rip off the wax paper from its container and place it onto the baking sheet, letting the extra 1/2-inch hang off the raised sides.

2. Place the sweet potato fries onto the wax paper in a single layer. Space them evenly apart on the sheet, giving them roughly 1/4-inch of space around each other. Fold the overhanging ends of wax paper up.

3. Insert the baking sheet with the sweet potato fries into your freezer. Wait three hours for the fries to freeze.

4. Open the plastic zip-top freezer bag and place it on your counter or table. Pick up the frozen sweet potato fries by pulling the ends of the wax paper into a tube shape. Angle the wax paper tube towards the opening of the plastic freezer bag. Pour the sweet potato fries into the bag, guiding them with your hand. Seal up the freezer bag and place in your freezer to save until you want to eat the fries.
