Make A Simple Salad

A simple salad doesn't need much more than lettuce and tomatoes.

Serving a salad course is a great way to brighten a dinner table and add important vegetables to a meal. A salad does not need to be complicated to be delicious. In fact, many salads take less than 5 minutes to prepare and may be compiled by a young child while you work in the kitchen on another part of dinner. In this article, we will discuss make a simple garden salad.

Instructions

1. Tear the lettuce into small pieces. The pieces of lettuce should be bite-size so that you do not have to use a knife to eat the salad.

2. Rinse the lettuce pieces under cold water. Hot water will make the lettuce wilt.

3. Place the lettuce in the salad bowl. Spread it out so that it covers the bottom of the bowl and at least halfway up the sides.

4. Make a circle of cherry tomatoes on top of the lettuce. You can make the circle big or little, depending on how many tomatoes you have.

5. Sprinkle the grated carrots around the edge of the tomato circle. The carrot circle does not need to be thick. It is okay to see lettuce under the carrots and also okay if some carrots get inside the tomato circle.

6. Sprinkle grated cheese over the entire salad.

7. Add salad dressing. Swirl the dressing over the top of the salad to make a pretty design.
