Make A Great Fried Rice

Fried rice can include a vraiety of vegetables.

Fried rice has its origins in China's Yanchow province. Ingredients traditionally include cooked rice, soy sauce, diced onions and sometimes eggs. Variations on this versatile dish can include leftover or freshly cooked meats, such as chicken, shrimp and roast pork.

Instructions

1. Prepare the rice the day before you are planning to make the fried rice. Follow the directions on the package. Also prepare a mixture of softened butter with crushed or powdered garlic. You can use a half-cup of butter and half a clove of crushed garlic. Keep this and the rice in the refrigerator overnight.

2. Heat a large pan on medium to medium-high heat. Put a couple tablespoons of oil in the pan and let it heat.

3. Place three eggs in the pan after the oil starts sizzling. Break the yolk and cook as if you were scrambling eggs. Place chopped-up onions in the pan as well. You can use about a half a cup.

4. Place the rice into the pan when the eggs are mostly cooked. Mix the rice with eggs and onions. Break the rice up well and heat the mixture for a couple of minutes. Then cover it thoroughly with soy sauce. Add other seasonings to your taste.

5. Put the mixture of butter and garlic that you had previously made in the rice. Continue cooking for three to five minutes.
