The Best Way To Butter Popcorn

Perfectly buttered popcorn will have everyone reaching for more.

When settling in to watch movies or a sporting event in your home, popcorn serves as a light snack that is easy to share. However, attempting to make perfectly buttered popcorn often results in an unappealing, soggy mess. If you want to make popcorn everyone will enjoy, the correct application of butter is essential.

Instructions

1. Place 1/3 cup of butter for every 4 cups of popped popcorn into a small glass bowl and microwave for 15 seconds. Increase the cooking time by eight seconds for every additional 1/3 cup of butter used.

2. Sprinkle 1 tsp. garlic salt for every 1/3 cup of butter into the melted butter and stir with a spoon for 10 seconds.

3. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl and drizzle 2 tbsp. of butter over the top. Shake the popcorn bowl to mix the popcorn and butter. Drizzle another 2 tbsp. of butter over the top and shake the bowl again. Repeat until you have used all of the butter.

4. Top the popcorn with any additional ingredients you enjoy, such as cayenne pepper or cheese powder, and shake the bowl again. Any powdered ingredient you use will stick to the buttered popcorn.

5. Serve the popcorn while it is still hot.
