Pizza is a favorite of many Americans. It can be ordered as take out, eaten at a restaurant or delivered to your door. There are even kits that you can purchase to create your own pizza. Next time you've got pizza on the menu, buy all the separate ingredients--except the sauce--and create your own custom pizza. The sauce might be the most important ingredient, so make your own tasty pizza sauce--it's easy and takes very little time to prepare.

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut four tomatoes in half. Cover the cooking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the tomato halves, cut side up, on sheet. Peel the two cloves of garlic. Place the garlic on the cookie sheet with the tomatoes.

2. Place the cooking sheet with the tomatoes and garlic in the oven. Set the timer for 12 minutes.

3. Empty tomato paste into the food processor. Add the olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, sugar, crushed red pepper flakes and pearl onions. Cover food processor and blend until smooth. Empty mixture into a small bowl.

4. Place tomatoes and garlic in food processor after their 12 minutes in the oven have ended. Blend until the tomatoes are still a little chunky; do not puree. It should take only about a 20 seconds.

5. Add the mixture from the small bowl to the tomato and garlic mixture in the food processor. Blend briefly, for just about 10 seconds.

6. Empty sauce into a large bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Place the sauce in the refrigerator for at least six hours so the flavors have time to mingle.
