Usage
The patient applies Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) 20 to 30 minutes after washing her face at night and avoids other skin care products for at least one hour afterward. Changes generally appear after three to four months.
How it works
Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) is a form of Vitamin A and triggers receptors in the body, which may change gene expression, protein formation and cell growth.
Clinical Experimentation
Scientists conducted tests on mice to measure Tretinoin Cream, USP Emollient's effectiveness. Results showed increased melanin production in UV-exposed mice. Two experiments on humans displayed improvement in the first 24 weeks.
Possible Side Effects
The patient may experience warmth or stinging immediately after Tretinoin Cream, USP (Emollient) application. Early in the treatment mild to moderate peeling, dry skin, burning, stinging, itching and redness may occur.
