Even though I usually use skullcap by itself, that doesn't mean it can't be put into an herbal blend. I've created the following great-tasting tea blend that can be used for insomnia, stress, anxiety, and even as an anti-inflammatory blend.
The recipe for my Insomnia Tea is measured in "parts." Choose something as a unit of measure, such as a teaspoon. If the recipe, for example, says "2 parts" you'll put in 2 teaspoons. All herbs used are dried.
Instructions
1. I have provided all of the Latin names of the plants for you. Make sure you have the right herb. For example, there is more than one variety of chamomile and more than one variety of mint.
2. Measure each of the herbs carefully and place them in the mixing bowl. Mix them gently with the wooden spoon.
3. Add the blend to the airtight container. I like amber glass jars stopped up with a cork. Store the blend in a cool, dry place.
4. When you want to make a cup of the tea, just use 1 teaspoon of the dried herb for each cup of hot water. Let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes before removing the herb. You can sweeten it to taste.
