Use Overripe Bananas

Bananas are a staple in most homes, especially if you have children. Many people think you need to throw out bananas when they ripen or become overripe. They couldn't be more wrong. There are many uses for overripe bananas. Take a look at the following ideas for your overripe bananas.


Instructions


1. Cut up your overripe bananas and eat them with your morning cereal. Even better, smash the bananas and mix in with your hot oatmeal.


2. Smash and mash the overripe bananas to make homemade banana bread or muffins. The overripe bananas will cling together, so be sure to mix the batter well.


3. Mix up pancake or waffle batter and add the mashed overripe bananas. If you forget to mix the bananas in, spread the mashed bananas over the top of the hot pancakes or waffles instead of butter, top with syrup and eat.


4. Stir mashed overripe bananas into your blender along with soy milk, cinnamon, vanilla, yogurt and ice and blend till smooth for a wonderful banana smoothie. You can come up with your own variations to suit the flavors you prefer.


5. Create wonderful dessert recipes with overripe bananas. Some of the most delicious ones include southern banana pudding, banana cream pie, bananas foster or banana cake.








6. Store mashed bananas in small freezer bags. By placing in small freezer bags, you can grab a bag at a time to add to your smoothie, pancakes, oatmeal or pudding when needed.


7. Give frozen overripe bananas to babies learning to eat fruit by putting the frozen banana into a baby fruit feeder that they suck on. It really makes a teething baby happy and it's nutritious as well.
