Different Breakfast Foods In France







Croissants are eaten for breakfast in France.


French cuisine is considered sophisticated and gourmet. Food and wine are important in French culture. Most of the cuisine is based on whole ingredients and plenty of bread and fats. Portion sizes tend to be smaller than what is found in the United States. French people generally eat three meals a day and also have tea in the afternoon. For the most part, breakfast is always accompanied by coffee.


Bread








One of the most traditional French breakfasts is French bread, usually a baguette with butter, jam or both. This isn't a large hunk of bread, just a medium-sized piece accompanied by a cup of black coffee. Some people drink hot chocolate or tea with their bread.


Croissants


Croissants are commonly eaten in France and also in the United States. Although they are a type of breakfast food in France, croissants aren't part of a standard, daily breakfast. Croissants tend to be eaten on weekends only. Some French people put jam on them or dunk them in a cup of coffee.


Fruit and Yogurt


Fresh fruit and yogurt are a recent breakfast food eaten in France. French people tend to eat full-fat yogurt which is quite filling and all types of fresh fruit, depending on what is in season.
