Make Red Lobster'S Scampi Sauce

A national chain of restaurants, Red Lobster is known for serving tasty dishes for seafood lovers. One dish is shrimp scampi. If you want to replicate this dish at home, you will need to make the scampi sauce. Then it can be baked with your shrimp for a few minutes to cook the shrimp and meld the flavors. Because this recipe requires wine, it is best for adults only.

Instructions

1. Heat a skillet until it is hot to the touch. Add the olive oil and shrimp and cook the shrimp until it is pink over medium-high heat.

2. Lower the temperature to medium, and take the shrimp out of the pan, leaving the oil. Add the garlic and saute for 3 minutes or until it is fragrant but not browned.

3. Pour the wine on top of the garlic, and squeeze the lemon half over the pan. Simmer over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until the wine has reduced by half.

4. Lower the heat to low and add the butter in spoonfuls to the wine. Stir the butter into the wine to make the sauce creamy. Keep the heat low or the butter will separate.

5. Add the shrimp to the skillet after all of the butter has melted. Stir in the parsley and salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with more parsley and a lemon wedge if desired. Serve hot.
