Get A Liquor License In New Mexico

If you own a grocery store, gas station, bar, night club, convenience store, or catering company in New Mexico, you will not be allowed to sell alcohol without a liquor license. You will not get a liquor license if you don't follow proper protocol.

Instructions

1. Contact New Mexico's Alcohol and Gaming Division. This is the government-appointed bureau that is in charge of issuing liquor licenses. This agency will be able to get you all the forms you need in order to apply for a liquor license.

2. Fill out an application for a liquor license and return it to New Mexico's Alcohol and Gaming Division. Make sure you answer every question on the application honestly. Any discrepancy in your application and the background check the Alcohol and Gaming Division does could cost you the liquor license.

3. Complete New Mexico's Alcohol server training program. In order to keep your liquor license, every person whose name is included on the license must complete this program. In addition to the people listed on the New Mexico Liquor license, anyone who will be serving alcohol in your establishment will also have to complete the program.

4. Pay any and all applicable fees. New Mexico has a different fee for different types of establishments.

5. Stay up to date with any changes or updates the state makes to their liquor license.
