Bread Pork Chops With Croutons

Use bone-in pork chops for a sophisticated presentation.

There's nothing like a juicy, flavorful pork chop placed in front of you. While pork chops are often served seasoned plain cooked in a pan, breading the pork chops is another common option. To bread pork chops, many people buy fine, dry breadcrumbs from the store. However, if you don't have breadcrumbs, but you have a box of croutons in your pantry, simply crush the croutons and bread the pork chops with them. Croutons are essentially large bread crumbs so you will wind up with nearly the same results.

Instructions

1. Pour the milk into a mixing bowl and season with salt, pepper, and other spices based on your preference.

2. Add the pork chops to the seasoned milk and leave them to soak for 30 minutes.

3. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

4. Pour the crushed croutons into another mixing bowl.

5. Remove the pork chops one at a time from the milk and dredge in the croutons. Turn the pork chops over several times in the croutons to coat well.

6. Place the breaded croutons on a greased baking sheet and spray them lightly with olive oil on both sides.

7. Bake the pork chops for 20 minutes, flipping them over halfway through, until the crouton crust is golden brown.
