Prepare Mango Juice

Use ripe mangoes for mango juice.

Make mango juice at home for a refreshing and naturally sweet drink. Mangoes are naturally juicy and contain only the pit in the middle, making them easy to turn into juice. Use only ripe mangoes for juice because they will add more sweetness to the drink. Mangoes provide healthy amounts of iron and vitamin C and can aid with anemia and constipation. Homemade mango juice does not last long without a preservative, so drink it within a few days of preparation.

Instructions

1. Peel the mango and put the pulp into a blender and mix until it becomes a liquid. If using premade mango pulp, add the mango pulp to the pitcher.

2. Heat 3/4 cup water in a pot to a boil. Stir in sugar if you want the extra sweetness. Add additional water later if needed to dilute the consistency of the juice. Boil until the sugar completely dissolves in the water. Mix the sweetened water with the mango pulp in the pitcher.

3. Add 1/2 tsp. citric acid to the pitcher for extra tartness and to bring out the flavor. Add 1/8 tsp. potassium metabisulphate to act as a preservative. If adding the preservative, let the mango juice sit for one week in the refrigerator before drinking it. If not, drink within a few days so that it doesn't go bad.
