Instructions

Making a pudding tunnel cake

1. Begin by gathering all the ingredients and materials needed for this recipe. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix package for a bunt cake. Pour 1 Tbls of cooking oil in the bunt cake pan and with the paper towel, make sure all areas of the pan are lightly oiled. Put 2 Tbls of flour in the bunt pan and shake around until all oiled areas are covered. If more flour is need, that is fine.

2. Prepare the cake according to the package instructions. Once cake is mixed, pour the mixture into the bunt pan. Bake according to package directions. When cake is finished baking, remove from oven and turn oven off. Set cake aside to cool.

3. Pour 1 cup of milk in a mixing bowl then empty both packets of whipped topping into the milk. Beat on high until whipped topping is thick and creamy. Set whipped topping in the refrigerator until needed. Mix the pudding according to package directions. Set aside until needed. Go back to your cake after it has cooled and remove it from the bunt pan being careful not to break the cake. Place the cake on the plate, top side down.

4. Slice off the top 2 inches of the cake horizontally. Lay the top portion aside. With the table spoon, scoop the inside of the remaining cake out of the center of the cake. Do not go too deep, simply take out enough to create a "tunnel" all the way around the cake. Place the remains of the "tunnel" in a bowl.

5. Pour the prepared pudding into the tunnel in the cake. Replace the top 2 inches of the cake back onto the pudding and the cake. Cover entire cake with whipped topping. Keep refrigerated until served.
