Lasagna pans need to be heavy and durable. The most popular material is metal, be it stainless steel, cast iron or aluminum carbon steel, but the pans are also made of ceramic, heat-resistant silicone and enameled cast iron with a colorful finish.
Features
Helpful features on some lasagna pans include a non-stick surface and handles, either fixed or with hinges to make for easy handling. Most lasagna pans are also dishwasher-safe.
Variations
One interesting variation on the standard lasagna pan, which includes one deep chamber, is the lasagna trio pan. This pan has three narrow chambers, each the exact length and width of a lasagna noodle, so you can bake three smaller portions at once.
Other uses
Lasagna pans are deep and heavy enough to be used for baking other foods besides lasagna. They are especially ideal for roasting meat, chicken and casseroles.
