Make A Chicken Sandwich

Chicken sandwiches are a protein-rich, satisfying meal.

Chicken sandwiches are a tasty way to combine protein, whole grains and vitamins in one quick meal. Chicken meat is low in calories and carbohydrates, and high in protein. Using leftover chicken breasts or meat from a roasted or rotisserie cooked chicken provides the benefit of pre-seasoned meat to enhance any other condiments you add to your sandwich. Fresh chicken is a filling, healthy alternative to lunch meat, and goes well with a variety of different vegetables and toppings. Chicken breast meat contains less fat than the meat from the thigh, wings or legs.

Instructions

1. Lightly toast two slices of bread in a toaster.

2. Spread a teaspoon of mayonnaise or other condiment on one side of each slice of bread.

3. Remove all bones and skin from the chicken. Removing the skin removes the majority of the fat from the chicken meat.

4. Slice the chicken into pieces that will fit on the bread. If your chicken is not seasoned, add dry seasonings such as salt, pepper or rosemary to enhance the flavor of the meat.

5. Place the chicken on one slice of bread.

6. Top the chicken with vegetables such as tomato slices, lettuce or pickles, and add cheese if desired.

7. Place the second slice of bread, condiment side down, on top of the chicken.
