Try something new and add some Greek flair to your meal with feta cheese--a cheese easily combined with many types of meals. Although associated mostly with Greek food, it can be added to any type of food and comes from many other countries in addition to Greece. Here's crumble fresh feta cheese into your meals.
Instructions
1. Purchase the feta cheese at any grocery store or local Greek and Middle Eastern markets in your area. Check the date to be sure it will remain fresh until you're ready to use it.
2. Leave feta in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat it. Cut off the amount of cheese you want to crumble and eat with a knife.
3. Run the chunk of feta to be crumbled under cold water to firm it up. Do this for about 10 to 20 seconds. Slice into chunks to make it easier to crumble.
4. Use a fork to break up the feta into small pieces. Follow up with your hands using fingers to break off and roll the cheese slightly into unevenly balled crumbles.
5. Sprinkle the feta crumbles to your meal and enjoy. Feta crumbles are a great addition to salads, combined with sliced tomatoes with olive oil and herbs as a snack, as a filling for puff pastries or with any other meal you choose.
