Store Heinz 57 Steak Sauce

Known also as "ketchup with a kick," Heinz 57 Steak Sauce can be just the right accompaniment to a lackluster steak. According to the official Heinz 57 website, the sauce has been a staple of the table since its release in 1911 with the original name of "Beefsteak Sauce." Each bottle of Heinz 57 has a "Best By" or "Use By" date on its label, which is the estimated time that the sauce will remain suitable. Storing Heinz 57 Steak Sauce properly can help you in reaching, and even surpassing, that date.

Instructions

1. Store an unopened bottle of Heinz 57 Steak Sauce safely in the cupboard, pantry or counter top. Keep the glass bottles away from any edges to prevent the bottle from being knocked off and broken.

2. Store an opened bottle in the refrigerator, either on the inside of the door with other condiments or tucked safely in the rear on one of the shelves. If the sauce is without a bottle, store it in a plastic container with an airtight lid, with the date packaged and the "Use By" or "Best By" date located on the label.

3. Keep the sauce until it develops a different odor, appearance or taste, and discard it immediately if it becomes moldy. The sauce can be used past its "Use By" or "Best By," though you should check it each time before use.
