A chocolate pot, originally designed to serve hot chocolate, was first designed and used by the Aztecs before being popularized in France during the 1940s by Limoges in porcelain form. Few companies make these chocolate serving delights and they are used in a very specific way. Use these steps to learn a little more about chocolate pots, use them and where you can buy one.

2. Be cautious when looking for a chocolate pot online, or even with larger kitchen retailers. You will get a lot of direction towards a fondue pot, which is not the same thing.








3. Decide if you want the more commonly-found chocolate pot that just holds and pours the hot chocolate or if you are looking for the much more rare chocolate pots that froth and pour hot chocolate. You will have to look in antique stores for the froth and pour ones. Remember to look for Limoges.


4. Browse auction or antique sites for used ones. Be careful in this venture, as you will not be able to see the true condition of the item until you have purchased it.


5. Contact your local antique dealer or novelty kitchen store. Even if they don't have one currently in stock, networking with the owner can get you far in the long run.
