Diablo is a hack-and-slash adventure role-playing game (RPG). Players control a single character and delve into a bottomless dungeon. Most of their time is spent fighting and killing monsters, but throughout the game, they'll receive several quests. One of these is to kill the butcher. It initiates when the player finds a wounded man by the cathedral. He tells the player of the nefarious butcher, and the next time the player travels into the dungeon, he'll find the butcher there waiting for him.
Instructions
1. Purchase a bow or find one in a treasure chest. You can buy them in Tristram from Griswold the Blacksmith. You do not need arrows. Bows have an infinite supply of ammo.
2. Travel into the dungeon. The butcher appears randomly on one of the early levels.
3. Approach the butcher. As soon as he starts running towards you, flee into a room with a barred door, such as on a jail cell.
4. Close the door. The butcher will howl from the other side of the door, but he won't open it. He cannot attack you from that side.
5. Fire arrows at him until he dies. He has a lot of hit points, so expect it to take a while.
Tips Warnings
When the butcher dies, he drops a powerful weapon called The Butcher's Cleaver. If you're a melee fighter, consider equipping it.
