Sweet and spicy sticky wings are a tailgating staple.
Take your tailgating or entertaining to new heights with the addition of these sweet and spicy hot wings to your finger foods menu. The sweet, spicy and sticky combination of flavorings on these wings may necessitate more than a few napkins, but the taste is irresistible. This recipe yields about five servings, so plan accordingly as these wings practically fly off the plates at parties.
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
2. Open the package of chicken wings and rinse them off. Pat the chicken wings dry.
3. Line the glass baking dish with foil and then lightly drizzle a little olive oil onto the foil-lined surface. The foil provides easy cleanup afterward. When your hot wings are done, you can simply lift the foil out of the baking dish so that it will be easier to wash.
4. Pour one of the seasoning packets into the zip-top bag. Place the chicken wings into the bag and pour the contents of the other seasoning packet on top of the wings. Add a couple of pinches of cinnamon and sugar to the bag, close it, then shake it vigorously. Shake until each chicken wing is evenly coated.
5. Pour your completely coated chicken wings onto the foil-lined baking dish. Put the chicken wings in the oven and bake them uncovered for about 35 minutes. The wings are done when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees or the meat is no longer pink.
6. Place the cooked wings on platters and serve with barbecue sauce for dipping and plenty of paper towels
