Make Soft Sugar Cookies

This sugar cookie recipe has been a tradition and a family favorite for years. They are soft, delicious and easy to make. We make them for holidays, picnics or just about any time. You can store them in airtight containers and freeze for a couple of months.

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease your cookie sheets.

2. Cream together butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add eggs, milk and vanilla and mix well.

3. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a separate mixing bowl and mix well with a spoon.

4. Add your flour mixture to your cookie mixture a little at a time while stirring.

5. Sprinkle flour on pastry sheet and rub flour over the rolling pin to prevent the cookie dough from sticking.

6. Divide dough into three dough balls. Place one dough ball on floured pastry sheet. Roll cookie dough ball out to desired thickness. Cut cookies out with your cookie cutter and place them on cookie sheets.

7. Repeat Step 6 until all cookies are cut and on cookie trays. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 9 to 11 minutes depending on the thickness of your cookie.
