This came about all quite by accident one night. During the hecticness of a typical evening at home, the brussel sprouts got over cooked. Guess what? That mushy vegetable that is so good for you nutritionally suddenly became eatable. The kids loved them. The brussel sprouts were crunchy and salty. We named them Monkey Balls. Read on to learn more.

Get Your Kids To Eat Brussel Sprouts
1. Place frozen baby brussel sprouts from the grocery store in a fry pan
for stove top cooking or a casserole dish for the oven. Be sure they are
in a single layer, not bunched up together.
2. Add a small amount of butter and salt and pepper to taste. Cook over
stove top or in casserole at 375 degrees F. If using the stove top keep
heat fairly high as you would for sauteed vegetables.
3. Turn often with a spatula so each side gets evenly browned. Remember
that the idea is to over-cook them on purpose. The crispier the better.
4. The result is crunchy, browned brussel sprouts with a salty, buttery
taste almost like popcorn. It may sound weird but kids eat them up and
they still have the nutrition your child needs. No more complaints
about mushy brussel sprouts for dinner. It's Monkey Balls they'll be
requesting from now on!
