Fry Chocolate

Deep fry chocolate into a tasty treat.

Frying chocolate turns a classic sweet treat into a unique, melted dessert. Batter provides a satisfying crunch and the pleasant taste of fried dough, while biting into the treat reveals a mass of gooey, melted chocolate inside. Making a fried chocolate bar is easy and you can quickly whip up this one-of-a kind treat.

Instructions

1. Place the chocolate in the freezer. While the bars don't need to be frozen, they should be cooled.

2. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

3. Combine flour, corn starch and baking powder in a bowl. Whisk the ingredients together.

4. Add the liquid -- milk, seltzer or water -- to the dry mixture to create batter. Mix just until the ingredients are combined; over-mixing will cause the batter to be tough.

5. Dunk the chilled chocolate bars in the batter, allowing it to coat the bar entirely and evenly. Carefully add the chocolate to the deep fryer to avoid splashing the oil. Fry the chocolate until the batter is golden brown and crispy.

6. Remove the fried chocolate from the deep fryer and set it on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
