Make Fish Chowder

Fish chowder is a sophisticated dish that can be made with any fish of your choice. The chowder is popular in New England. This recipe takes less than one hour to prepare and cook. It can be used as a side or a main dish. Read on to learn more.


Instructions


1. Peel and dice the potato and onion.


2. Boil 1 cup water in a sauce pan.


3. Place the potatoes in boiling water. Cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes or until potatoes are soft in the center.


4. Fry bacon in a skillet until some of the fat is cooked off.








5. Add the onion to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.


6. Drain bacon and onions. Save the fat. Cut bacon into small pieces about 1/2-inch long.


7. Add bacon, onion, fat, fish and soups to potatoes. Mix the ingredients thoroughly.








8. Cook for another 10 minutes.


9. Mix the milk, salt and pepper into the other ingredients. Bring the chowder to a boil.


10. Remove from heat and pour into large soup bowls.


11. Sprinkle parsley and cheese on top of the fish chowder.
